Adele began her rescheduled Las Vegas performances on Friday, 10 months after she infuriated her audience by delaying the gigs at the eleventh hour. The singer described her state of mind as “very apprehensive.”
People who went to the inaugural “Weekends with Adele” gig claimed they were pleased to finally see the Grammy-winning singer live on stage and appeared to forgive her for the delay. The show took place at Caesars Palace and was the chart-first topper’s performance of the series. She was given a standing ovation by the crowd as she took the stage.
According to a video that was shared on social media, Adele can be heard saying, “Thank you for coming back to me.”
The concert was described by attendees as having an intimate atmosphere, and many expressed how affected they were by her performance of some of her biggest songs, such as “Hello” and “Easy on Me.”
One Twitter user said, “I SWEAR ADELE JUST PUT ON ONE OF THE BEST CONCERTS I’VE EVER WITNESSED IN MY LIFE.”

In January, the British singer was subjected to criticism when she sent an emotional video apology to her supporters in which she explained that she would be unable to perform the gigs as a result of the pandemic and the fact that half of her team had become ill with COVID-19.
She said that her crew had “tried absolutely everything, but that it had been impossible to complete the show.” When they found out the news, some of the fans were already on their way to Nevada, where the performances were scheduled to start the next day.
On Thursday night, the singer-songwriter posted a photograph of herself on Instagram taken during a rehearsal. In the background of the image was a collage of pictures from her youth.
“I’m highly emotional, incredibly nervous but can’t sit still because I’m so excited … I always get scared before shows, and I take it as a good sign because it means I care and means I just want to do a good job,” she had written.
The British singer, who is now 34 years old, is slated to play in Las Vegas during the month of March.
