Imran Khan, the chairman of the PTI, went to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Saturday to request post-arrest release in the cipher case.

The case in question involves the alleged “misuse” of a diplomatic cipher’s contents, which ex-premier Imran used as evidence of a coup attempt.
Currently, he is a prisoner at the Attock Jail. Salman Safdar, the former PM’s attorney, filed the bail petition. Yousuf Naseem Khokar, secretary of the interior and state ministries, is mentioned as one of the petition’s respondents.
The former prime minister’s bail request in the cipher case was denied on Thursday by Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Judge Abul Hasnaat Muhammad Zulqarnain, who has been chosen to preside over the special court established to hear charges filed under the Official Secrets Act from all over the nation.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s request for bail was also denied by the special court.
According to the judgment, given the information in the current FIR, there seemed to be good reason to suspect that the accused petitioners had violated sections 5 and 9 of the Official Secret Act of 1923. Additionally, there are good reasons to think that the accused has committed a crime for which bail is not available.
It said that the record was adequate to reject the bails for both accused parties. In the future, the restrictions during arguments will be opposed, who will be unneeded and irrelevant persons during court hearings, in order to avoid any harmful design to the safety of the state for tentative assessment.
Asad Umar, the PTI leader, had his bail allowed by the court in the same case. He was required to produce a surety bond in the amount of Rs. 50,000.
The prosecutor’s declaration that there is no need for him and no evidence against him confirmed bail, according to the judge.
