PM briefed on CPEC before China summit

ISLAMABAD: According to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the ML-1 project is the CPEX’s flagship project and will change the game for Pakistan (CPEC).

The prime minister made these comments while serving as the meeting’s chair to examine the advancement of CPEC and other Chinese projects.

An extensive presentation on infrastructure projects, including (ML-1), the Karachi Circular Railway, the Karakoram Highway, and other projects, was made during the meeting. Hydropower and solar power projects of 10,000 megawatts each were also discussed. The meeting was presented with the current state of the CPEC projects, continuing development, and a thorough action plan to speed up the pace of these projects in the future. The chief minister of Sindh congratulated the prime minister for included Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) in the CPEC during the meeting.

According to the prime minister, it is a national imperative to complete the CPEC projects within the allotted time frame. He gave the go-ahead to start working on them.

The ML-1 project, according to the prime minister, will be crucial to Pakistan’s economic development by linking its ports to those of China and the Central Asian nations. He continued, “This project is the foundation of Pakistan Railways.”

The prime minister stated that the CPEC is now transitioning from a government-to-government phase to a business-to-business phase and that Pakistan welcomes Chinese companies’ interest in investing in Pakistan’s solar energy projects. He said that the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) will lessen Karachi’s traffic issues and offer people of the sprawling metropolis secure transportation options.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, a former prime minister, federal ministers, Ahsan Iqbal, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Salik Hussain, Syed Naveed Qamar, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Syed Murtaza Mahmood, Tariq Bashir Cheema, and others were present in the meeting. The chief minister of Sindh also took part through video link.
