Fans will be ready to welcome Shah Rukh Khan back to the silver screens in exactly 55 days. He never left, yet his absence has now lasted five years. The actor is now preparing for Pathaan, an upcoming action comedy that is a part of Yash Raj Films’ 50th anniversary. The actor recently claimed that prior to Siddharth Anand’s direction of Pathaan, no one was seeking him for action movies.
Prior to Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan claimed that no one would have given him an action movie role. He stated, “Want to do Mission Impossible-ish kind of films.”
Shah Rukh Khan attended the special screening of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge on Thursday at the Red Sea Festival in Saudi Arabia. The actor talked to Deadline about Pathaan and his motivation for wanting to work in action films. He claimed, “Nobody was taking me for action. I’ve never done an action film. I’ve done extremely nice love stories. I’ve done some social dramas. I’ve done some terrible characters. “I’m 57 years old, and I decided that in the coming years, I must work in action movies; I want to do movies that are somewhat akin to Mission Impossible. I want to direct outrageous action movies.
Shah Rukh Khan continued by stating that India is experiencing a rapid technological advancement. Khan continued, “I think we’ve advanced by leaps and bounds, therefore I want to apply all that information.”
Shah Rukh Khan had previously discussed his motivations for doing Pathaan in June 2022. “It was a lot of fun when we first started filming Pathaan. He said, “It’s an action movie with great co-stars like Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, and Ashutosh Rana. It’s the kind of movie I’ve wanted to do for 30 years. I’ve always considered myself to be an action-oriented person.

In light of this, I believe my perception of Pathaan is that, as an actor, I have hopefully accomplished what I had really hoped to do when I first arrived in Mumbai.
In his 50s, he acknowledged, he is still enjoying the process of becoming an action hero, just as he did in his 20s. “I liked it. Action is enjoyable to perform. It’s getting a bit late (referring to his age). I’m trying to make things work at the age of 56 by being strong and manly. Siddharth and the entire action team have worked very hard. I’m hoping it will work,” he grinned.
“I recall Siddharth telling me the stories of many movies. Sadly, it took us a long time to locate a convenient time to work together. He was carrying a book with the name Pathaan. Sir, maine film ready kar li hai, he would say to me. He sent me a beautiful message that said, “I have this title,” one fine day when we were unable to work on the two scripts he narrated. I was unable to schedule a movie with you. Now, feel free to use the title whenever you wish to create a movie. Siddharth Anand returned to him with a new script, Shah Rukh Khan revealed.
“The movie has travelled a far distance. You will all be able to see it shortly, he continued.
On January 25, 2023, Pathaan will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu!
