Every facet of previous team performance, player fitness, and future plans were thoroughly examined with the goal of putting improvement to one side. On improving the approach and plan for managing players’ workload, there was consensus. Additionally, the necessity of bench strengthening was emphasized.

Zaka Ashraf, chairman of the management committee, said: “The goal of this evaluation was to foster open dialogue and reach consensus. Everyone should participate in a discussion about performances, highlighting any issues and suggesting solutions. To be clear about what and where we need to invest for the benefit of our team, we must discuss strengths and shortcomings.

“Discussion revealed that the previous management had allowed many players to play league cricket, which caused them to become fatigued before their national duty,” the article continued. However, moving forward, it has been decided to create a proactive strategy to address players’ workload and give national duty a higher priority.

“I’m delighted we had a productive review meeting and that everyone understood what was going on. We are sure that the Asia Cup experience served as a learning curve and will aid in getting ready for the ICC Men’s World Cup.

“Our team is talented, and we think they have what it takes to compete and succeed at the top levels. We are committed to provide our top-notch hitters and bowlers the materials and support they need in order to be prepared for the major event.

Chief selector Inzamam ul Haq, who was unable to attend the meeting yesterday owing to a medical emergency, met with Zaka Ashraf on Thursday afternoon to offer his opinions. Following the evaluation, Inzamam has selected the Pakistani team for the ICC World Cup, which will be unveiled on Friday at 11:15 a.m. at a press conference on Level 2, Far-End Building of Gaddafi Stadium.
