ISLAMABAD: According to reports, the National Apex Committee meeting has decided in principle to deport foreigners who are illegally residing in Pakistan.

The choice was made during a meeting of the Apex committee presided over by PM Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar.

COAS General Asim Munir, the chief ministers of four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan were present during the meeting that the caretaker premier presided over.

There were also senior security people present. According to sources, security personnel briefed the meeting’s attendees about the most recent terrorist attacks in Pakistan.

The conference was also given a briefing on the measures being done to combat terrorism in Pakistan and illegal immigration.

According to sources, the group decided to set a deadline for foreigners living unlawfully in Pakistan to return, and when that date had passed, their property would be taken.

According to report, which cited the military’s media wing, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir underlined on Saturday that Pakistan’s armed forces’ campaign against terrorists would continue unabatedly and that they would not stop until the threat of terrorism was eradicated from the nation.

The Army Chief made these comments during his visit to Quetta today, according to Inter-Services Public Relations, when he was briefed on the most recent terrorist assaults in Mastung and Zhob.

Senior civil and military officials, as well as Chief Minister Balochistan, Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti, and important province ministers, attended the briefing.
